Adventures in conflict: managing yourself and others in extremes with Ian Snape

Ian described a personal journey spanning nearly 20 years of polar exploration as a scientist and team leader. Small teams working in remote areas under harsh conditions inevitably have to manage conflict. Ian outlined some of the techniques that he has learned along the way, and introduced some simple techniques for mediating yourself and maintaining your own health and well-being while helping others. Gail arranged for two actors to roleplay a property dispute. Their commitment to the scenario made for a challenging and thoroughly entertaining simulation. This was an interactive event with breaks between each stage of the mediation enabling questions and discussion amongst attendees throughout, providing valuable insight for all. For more info >>
